The opportunity
Join Hitachi, Ltd. as an Equipment Engineer and play a key role in optimizing and maintaining manufacturing equipment to ensure high performance, reliability, and efficiency. You will work in a collaborative environment, contributing to continuous improvement and supporting innovative manufacturing processes.
How you’ll make an impact
1. Develop and implement modifications and upgrades to existing manufacturing equipment to improve efficiency, yield, and safety
2. Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex manufacturing machinery and systems
3. Analyse equipment performance data to identify trends, predict failures, and implement preventive measures
4. Collaborate with production, R&D, and quality teams to resolve equipment-related issues and optimize processes
5. Create and maintain documentation for equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and technical specifications
6. Train technicians and operators on new equipment and updated procedures
7. Manage spare parts inventory and ensure timely procurement of required components and ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations
8. Support the selection, installation, and qualification of new manufacturing equipment
Your background
9. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or electrical Engineering
10. Minimum 2 years of experience in equipment engineering within a manufacturing environment
11. Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems
12. Proven ability to troubleshoot complex machinery and identify root causes of failures
13. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methods
14. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
15. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
16. English is mandatory, German is beneficial
