The Position
Foodlicious is our daily business. From the Roche Tavern, a successful gastronomy enterprise for over 30 years, we have developed into a comprehensive community catering company. Taverne Roche is a 100% subsidiary of F. Hoffmann-La Roche, employing around 350 staff from over 41 nations at our Basel and Kaiseraugst locations.
Our offerings include staff restaurants with diverse cuisines, fine dining with upscale cuisine and excellent service, international delicacies, coffee specialties prepared by our baristas, the highest lounges in Switzerland, and grab-and-go options from sushi to burgers. We also operate the first and only Roche club, and provide conference and event catering for up to 1,500 people. Our public gastronomies include Schöpfli in the park and Chez Jeannot at the Tinguely Museum.
Starting September 2025, we are seeking a Restaurant Manager for our Museum Restaurant, Chez Jeannot.
Your Main Responsibilities:
* Lead the Chez Jeannot restaurant in line with business objectives, optimizing service processes
* Perform front-of-house duties, ensuring smooth service including preparation and follow-up
* Handle organizational, planning, and administrative tasks (reservations, POS systems, ordering, inventory, budgeting)
* Collaborate with the Tinguely Museum and build guest relationships
* Implement sales promotion measures and contribute to menu planning with the chef
* Support development of the gastronomic concept and strategic projects
* Contribute creatively to programming and organize events
* Manage, train, and develop staff, both direct and indirect reports
* Ensure compliance with hygiene, quality standards, and safety regulations
* Working hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 – 18:00, Thursdays until 22:00
Your Profile:
* Training in gastronomy and hotel management, Wirtspatent preferred
* Several years of successful experience as a restaurant manager
* Proven leadership in similar roles
* Strong business acumen, entrepreneurial mindset
* High goal, team, quality, and service orientation
* Organizational talent, flexibility, assertiveness
* Friendly, extroverted personality
* Excellent communication skills, guest-focused
* Creativity in developing new ideas and concepts
* Digital expertise in gastronomy, proficiency in inventory and F&B management software
* Fluent in German and English, both spoken and written
