Within the Electronics and Industrial (E&I) organization in EMEA, we are looking to reinforce our technology team to support the DuPont Kalrez product line. This business focuses on high-performance parts that provide sealing solutions in the chemical industry, life science, aerospace, energy, and the electronics industries.
Within our EMEA technical team, we are currently seeking a Prototyping Technician, Elastomers .
The ideal person for this position fulfills the functions of polymechanic or micromechanic and laboratory technician. The main tasks consist of machining rubber tools or parts from rubber preforms. This person will also be directly involved in the manufacturing of rubber parts from preforming down to finishing and dimensional measurement. Experience in rapid prototyping or rubber manufacturing will help the candidate to validate new concepts and designs for our elastomer precision parts process. The candidate will also provide support to the TS&D group by running physical testing, analytical testing, and characterization of our precision parts.
Responsibilities:
Rapid prototyping production of rubber parts for the validation of new concepts developed by engineers, using different techniques such as CNC milling, CNC lathe, 3D metrology, and 3D printing.
Usage of 3D CAD/CAM software for the CNC in prototyping production and 3D metrology software for conducting tool and parts controls.
Performing material tests to characterize the physical properties of elastomeric parts, including analytical characterization.
Conducting special tests such as high-pressure and high-temperature sealing tests for elastomers.
Collaboration with engineers for the development of application tests, from design to test execution, in order to verify the performance of our parts in end-use situations.
Complete data generation program to support the promotion of Kalrez parts. Create comprehensive test reports and provide analysis of test results.
We are looking for a person with:
Mechanical background: Knowledge in numerical lathe and milling as well as proven skills in CAD/CAM are required (Fusion and Mastercam preferred).
Experience in rubber prototyping mold design and manufacturing is preferred.
Ability to conduct laboratory tests is highly appreciated, particularly mechanical and analytical testing.
Knowledge of rubber rheology and physical testing is an asset.
Experience using pressure equipment (autoclave type) is an asset.
Ability to manage multiple tasks according to their priority.
Ability to meet objectives while respecting deadlines.
Good verbal and written communication skills to produce technical reports.
Proactivity and team spirit.
Language skills: fluency in French.
