As a PLC Software Engineer, you will be responsible for programming and designing software structures, as well as conceptualizing software modules. You will develop and implement process control and monitoring functionalities, including their visualization. Managing and working with software version control systems, such as GIT, will be part of your daily work. You will evaluate hardware components with regard to their control and monitoring strategies. Acting as a technical expert for automation topics, you will serve as the direct point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. You will support field service technicians and engineers, both remotely and on-site. Additionally, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining internal documentation.
Requirements
Successfully completed degree in automation, systems engineering, or a comparable field
Comprehensive knowledge of at least one PLC programming environment applied in machine control, including familiarity with fundamental programming languages (ST, C) and experience with object-oriented programming
At least 5 years of experience with relevant applications in professional environments
Good overall understanding of mechanical and process engineering, with a willingness to participate in and support system commissioning activities, including on-site
Availability and flexibility for up to 15% travel
Ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary teams and enjoyment in tackling cross-functional challenges
Excellent written and spoken English
Additional Highly Valued Qualifications:
Previous experience with the following PLC programming environments: Codesys, B&R Automation Studio
Experience in direct customer-facing roles as a technical expert
Basic knowledge of or interest in product management
