The Purpose Of This Role
The main goal of Microsoft Solution Engineer (SE) is to win the technical decision of customers to purchase and use our technology. The SE is expected to be able to both own and win customers’ technical decisions, as well as find new opportunities through their contacts and engagements for sales specialists to pursue. As a SE, you work within a virtual team of technical, partner and consulting resources to help educate your customers at a technical level, demonstrate, and prove our solutions, and win the technical decision, allowing the team to achieve/exceed quarterly sales targets in your accounts. Being part of this team will allow you to maintain and develop your deep technical expertise across Microsoft and non-Microsoft cloud-based technologies.
Key experiences include proven ability to build deep technical relationships with senior executives, manage stakeholder relationships to gain consensus on solutions/projects, influence across technical and business teams, executive presence, presentation and demo skills, and strong written and verbal communication. You will work with customers, the Microsoft account team, and Microsoft partners to educate, demonstrate, and drive technical decisions. You may create Proof of Concepts (PoCs) or Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) that lead to production deployments.
The Impact You’ll Be Making
As a Cloud & AI Solution Engineer for the Azure platform, you’ll help customers modernize their infrastructure and unlock the full value of Microsoft’s cloud. You’ll design and implement secure, scalable, and resilient architectures that support AI workloads and business-critical applications, collaborating with technical and business stakeholders.
You bring deep expertise in migrating core workloads—including Windows, SQL Server, Linux, PostgreSQL, and Oracle—to Azure. Beyond migration, you guide modernization using the 6R strategy, containerization best practices, and Azure-native services like AKS and Arc, while exploring how AI and intelligent agents can accelerate legacy transformation.
You apply strong networking knowledge to design hybrid and cloud-native solutions, including virtual networks, VPNs, and secure routing architectures that meet enterprise performance and compliance needs. You will also work with partner solutions such as NetApp, VMware, RedHat, and SAP to ensure a secure, optimized, and scalable migration experience.

With a solid understanding of Azure security services and compliance frameworks you will help customers meet regulatory requirements and build Cloud environments that are ready for the future.
Responsibilities
* Lead Technical Engagements: Own technical discussions for Azure Migration with customers by leveraging processes, tools, demos, and programs; apply consultative and/or Challenger methodologies; define rules of engagement for extended teams.
* Build Migration Strategy: Translate the agreed customer vision into a clear strategy, address concerns, remove technical blockers, validate a strong business case for investment, and articulate technology complexity in terms of business impact. Collaborate with customers, account teams, and partners to orchestrate an implementation roadmap.
* Drive Technical Assessments: Conduct in-depth evaluations of the current environment to create migration plans and build a solid business case for transformation.
* Design Solutions: Apply technical expertise, architectural principles, consultancy skills, and proven methodologies to craft solutions that secure technical decisions and meet customer needs.
* Align Stakeholders: Ensure technical decision-makers endorse the proposed architecture and migration plan.
* Execute Proof of Concepts (POC) and Minimum Viable Products (MVP): Validate solutions and accelerate customer confidence through hands-on demonstrations.
* Scale Through Partners: Act as a liaison between partners and account teams, facilitate partner resources and processes, and strengthen partner technical capacity by identifying skill gaps and providing actionable feedback to internal teams.
* Champion Customer Voice: Share insights and best practices, collaborate with Engineering to remove blockers, and influence product improvements. Support pipeline creation within customer engagements in partnership with Specialists.
* Consultative Selling: Engage customers through meaningful dialogue to uncover needs and craft tailored solutions that deliver business value.
* Communicate with Impact: Adapt technical messaging across diverse technologies, products, and services to match the audience’s level of understanding and drive clarity in decision-making.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
* Some first years of technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR equivalent experience
* Some first years of experience with cloud and hybrid, or on premises infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, industry standards, and/or technology management.
* Proficiency in French and/or German is required to engage with customers
