Role summary
Lead global medical affairs activities for assigned products or therapeutic areas. Provide strategic scientific leadership across the product lifecycle, support evidence generation and medical communications, and act as a trusted internal and external medical expert.
Core responsibilities
Define and implement global medical affairs strategy for assigned product(s).
Translate scientific evidence into medical strategy, educational materials, and external engagement plans.
Provide medical input for clinical development, regulatory interactions, labelling strategy, and post-marketing evidence generation.
Prepare and review scientific content: dossiers, publications, congress submissions, slide decks, and non-promotional educational materials.
Engage with external clinical experts and investigators; organise and facilitate advisory boards and scientific meetings.
Support cross-functional teams (Regulatory, Clinical, Commercial, Market Access, Pharmacovigilance) to ensure medical accuracy and compliance.
Oversee medical training for internal stakeholders and field medical teams.
Contribute to safety and risk-management planning in alignment with pharmacovigilance requirements.
Track scientific, clinical and regulatory developments relevant to assigned products.
Manage medical budget and external partnerships as required.
Required qualifications & experience
Medical degree (MD) or advanced scientific degree (PhD/PharmD) or equivalent industry experience.
Minimum ~7 years’ relevant experience in medical affairs, clinical development, or related roles within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, including global responsibilities.
Experience delivering medical strategy, publications, advisory boards and investigator-initiated study support.
Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance standards for medical affairs.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills; proven ability to influence in a matrix organisation.
Fluent in English; additional languages advantageous but not required.
Strategic thinking and scientific literacy (interpretation of clinical and real-world evidence).
Cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management.
High ethical standards and commitment to compliance.
Project and budget management skills.
