Job DescriptionAs a Senior IC Test Engineer, you will take a leading role in developing, integrating, and optimizing test solutions for IC validation and high-volume production. You will drive test strategy from early development through mass production, ensuring high test coverage, robustness, and cost efficiency.
In addition to hands-on technical contributions, you will provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and act as a key interface between design, product, and production teams.
Your Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Strategy
1. Define and drive test strategy and architecture across validation and production phases
2. Own test solution development from concept through product ramp and yield optimization
3. Lead complex debug and FA activities across silicon, hardware, and software
4. Ensure test coverage, quality, and cost targets are met across product lifecycle
5. Identify and implement test cost reduction and throughput optimization
Test Development & Integration
6. Design and develop advanced test hardware (load boards, probe cards) for validation and production
7. Architect and develop scalable test programs and automation frameworks
8. Lead integration of ATE platforms (e.g., Advantest, Cohu) with standardized and custom test solutions
9. Define characterization plans and ensure robust correlation between lab and ATE
Data Analysis & Yield Improvement
10. Analyze test results and failures to improve test procedures, coverage, and product reliability.
11. Drive yield improvement, binning strategy, and test limit optimization
12. Establish methodologies for data-driven decision making and continuous improvement
Cross-functional Collaboration
13. Collaborate closely with Design, Quality, and Production Engineering teams
14. Influence design-for-testability (DFT) and product design decisions
15. Ensure seamless handover from development to production and support manufacturing ramp
Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing
16. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
17. Promote best practices in test development, debug, and documentation
18. Contribute to continuous improvement of tools, methodologies, and workflows
Your Skills and Experience
19. Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
20. 8+ years of experience in IC test engineering (validation and/or production)
21. Strong hands-on experience with ATE platforms (Advantest, Cohu preferred)
22. Solid background in mixed-signal IC testing (analog/digital/RF)
23. Proven experience in test solution ownership from development to high-volume production
24. Expertise in debugging complex hardware-software interactions
25. Proficiency in programming (C/C++, Python, or similar) and automation frameworks
26. Strong experience with data analysis tools (Python, Matlab, or equivalent)
27. Advanced lab debugging skills (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, SMUs, etc.)
28. Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset
29. Ability to work independently and take full technical ownership
30. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
31. Experience working in cross-functional and multicultural environments
32. Fluent in English; German is a plus
