About the job:
On behalf of our client we are currently seeking a qualified Project / Construction Manager to support small CAPEX engineering projects (typically 500 kCHF) at the site. You will act as the technical and operational lead, navigating a matrix organization to coordinate with Procurement, Quality, and external vendors to ensure seamless site operations.
Responsibilities:
* Manage and coordinate small CAPEX engineering projects from initiation through execution and close-out
* Provide day-to-day projects and/or construction management support for engineering activities
* Manage projects at various stages—from defining schedules and detailed design to commissioning and final execution
* Coordinate contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders
* Plan, schedule, and track project activities and deliverables
* Provide on-site oversight of execution activities with focus on safety, quality, cost, and schedule
* Proactively identify risks and issues, propose mitigation actions, and elevate appropriately
* Prepare and deliver structured progress updates, including status, risks, issues, and next steps
* Lead evaluation tasks and structure follow-up for Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation (CQV) activities
* Serve as the primary point of contact for external suppliers and internal partners in Procurement and Quality
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Project Manager and/or Construction Manager supporting small CAPEX projects (5-7 years of related experience).
* Experience in a pharmaceutical or biotech environment, with solid understanding of GMP requirements
* Education: Master’s degree in Engineering or Project Management (Bachelor/Master level)
* Ability to work independently and integrate effectively within an engineering organization
* Proactive, solution-oriented, and problem-solving mindset
* Strong organizational and structuring skills, with the ability to provide clear and timely reporting
* Sound judgment to elevate issues and risks at the appropriate time
